The Role
The key role of the Communications & Membership Officer is to
1. Maintain contact and relationships with assigned existing client associations, including arranging and attending visits and televisits and ensuring that services are being utilised.
2. Promote our activities via digital channels and our printed magazine, ASSOCIATIONS. This will revolve heavily around email campaigns and website content, often to promote our upcoming conferences. Other key activities to promote include membership, consulting work and sponsorship.

Tasks will also include:
- Dealing with enquiries from prospective members
- Implementing member retention and recruitment strategies
- Upselling memberships and extra services to existing members who enquire
- Assisting to develop member benefits
- Managing our marketing & communications schedule
- Producing content for our magazine, published 3 times per year
- Putting together email campaigns
- Writing copy for advertising
- Liaising with a graphic designer and printers
- Maintaining and updating website content
- Populating event websites with program sessions and speakers
- Producing news articles from press releases
- Managing social media
- Segmenting our database of contacts to target specific audiences
- Maintaining database records
- Attending occasional events and external meetings
- Seeking and collating testimonials as required

This varied role is an excellent opportunity to gain significant experience in the activities of a membership organisation that works closely with not-for-profit organisations.

About the candidate
The successful candidate will be someone who:
- Has excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Has a Bachelor degree or higher
- Is self-motivated and solution-focused with great attention to detail
- Is able to establish priorities, manage time, adapt to change, and work collaboratively with others
- Is fluent in English
- Is adept with a range of computer applications
- Enjoys working in a close-knit team

Full training will be provided.

Further details
This is a casual role with standard work hours equating to 5 days per week (37.5 hours).
All equipment will be provided.Our office is located in Artarmon on Sydney's North Shore, close to Artarmon train station.
You must be an Australian permanent resident, living in Sydney.
