Audiology Australia is the peak professional association representing audiologists in Australia.  Established in 1968, it has a current membership of over 3,000 audiologists. 

Audiology Australia provides professional accreditation for audiologists.  Professional accreditation by Audiology Australia is a requirement to provide audiological services that fall under Medicare, the Australian Government’s Hearing Services Program, state and territory work cover schemes, as well as many private health funds.

The profession of audiology is self-regulating, and Audiology Australia strives to help our members achieve the highest standards when delivering services to their clients.

About the role

With a flair for creating engaging and innovative digital and print content, you will bring your passion, innovation, and creativity to the delivery of Audiology Australia’s communications and public relations strategy, including building the organisation’s online/digital presence to support membership engagement and key advocacy and policy objectives.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to, and with the support of, Audiology Australia’s Communications and Publication Relations Manager, the role will see you involved in, but not limited to:

  • Creation of digital marketing collateral including the fortnightly e-newsletter, events mailouts and direct email marketing related to member events and initiatives
  • Assisting with regular review and update of the organisation’s website and development of engaging digital content including web articles, videos, and event calendar updates
  • Updating and monitoring of Audiology Australia social media channels to build engagement and support key organisational and member activities and objectives
  • Researching and preparation of copy for a range of corporate and communication materials including annual reports, media releases, fact sheets, opinion articles, advertorials, ad copy and marketing collateral
  • Contributing to the maintenance of the organisation’s CRM including running reports and maintaining key marketing and communications campaign lists
  • Assisting as needed to respond to general media enquiries in line with Audiology Australia’s media policy and process
  • Editing and proofing written materials and ensure all materials are consistent with branding and style guidelines
  • Assisting with reporting on key campaigns and member engagement to support the Executive, Board, and stakeholders


Key selection criteria
  • At least three-years’ experience working in a communication and marketing role
  • Solid content writing, editing and proofreading skills with the ability to adapt tone and voice to target audience
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Innovative and creative with a desire to bring new ideas to the table
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experienced in delivery of social media across key platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram
  • Analytical with an interest in understanding and responding to trends and demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously to identify new opportunities and contribute to delivery of key team and organisational objectives
  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field
  • Experience working for a not-for-profit, member-based association.
  • Experience in implementing communication strategy, media relations and public awareness campaigns.
