  • Help community radio stations be stronger and more successful

The Organisation

The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) is a leading member based, for purpose organisation. We provide programs and services that aim to strengthen over 450 community radio, local and independent media organisations.

With over 5 million listeners each week, community radio plays a vital role in providing a voice for multicultural, First Nations and other underrepresented groups, as well as supporting independent & emerging musicians and communities not adequately serviced by other media.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic specialist for this pivotal new role, as we focus our effort on enhancing the strength and success of our member community radio stations. You’ll help us work with members to strengthen their governance, build on their business models, and grow their revenues.

Your day-to-day tasks will vary a lot, but you’ll be focussed on making community radio stations stronger and even more successful. You will do this by leading the development of a suite of practical resources, templates and easy to use tools; ensuring customers know how to use CBAA services; delivering a range of webinars; growing CBAA Learning, our online learning platform; and curating our conference/event program.

  • Implement the CBAA’s sector resilience and capability development plan
  • Manage the timely and successful delivery of project activities and outcomes

  • Help us identify best practice examples from around the world
  • Use human-centred design methodologies to design and produce activities that are aligned to station needs

  • Proven research and analysis skills, with high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills, superior interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills
  • Qualifications in Governance - or the ability to gain this quickly on the job

It would also be great, but not essential, if you had a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, human centred design experience and experience working with a diverse range of community broadcasters.

Application Process

CBAA has a policy of inclusion, and we welcome and encourage applications from First Nations people, and people from a diversity of genders, cultures, linguistic backgrounds, abilities and experiences to apply.

We are happy to consider flexible employment arrangements, including other locations and virtual/hybrid work arrangements for the right candidate.
