Description

About the College

The Australasian College of Paramedicine (the College) is the peak professional association for paramedics in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. The College represents and supports over 10,000 paramedics and student paramedics. The College champions the role of paramedics in emergency, primary, and palliative care, and we are committed to enhancing patient-centred care for the community.

About the role

The College delivers five major conferences and over 60 local / online events each year across Australia and New Zealand. This role will be focused on the local / online events but may have duties in relation to our conferences at times.

The Event Coordinator role will work with the Member Services Manager to deliver our local and online events in Australia. The role incorporates event organisation and administration, promotion and communication, as well as undertaking education projects to progress new education activities for paramedics.

Role Detail

  • This is a full-time role.
  • The College has a remote-based workforce, meaning the Event Coordinator will work from their own home office.
  • Our preference is for the role to be based in a capital city across Australia or New Zealand, but other locations will be considered.

The role will be required to attend some events and therefore is expected to travel locally and within Australia at times.

The Event Coordinator will need to build knowledge about the education needs of paramedics and their legislated education requirements for paramedic registration.

Key Duties

  • Support the Member Services Manager to deliver successful events,
  • Manage local events, podcasts and online events with volunteer organisers taking care of venue, catering, promotional posters, website placement and communication.
  • Effectively manage event administration, registrations and member needs.
  • Respond to event enquiries in an accurate and timely manner, providing a high level of service to members.
  • Liaise with volunteers and education committees with delivery of local events.
  • Manage the online streaming of webinars and local events through Zoom and Vimeo.
  • Manage the presentation abstract submission process with the Education Committee and Education Team.
  • Work with the Communication team to ensure strong event engagement through effective event communication.
  • Work effectively in a team with other staff to ensure the overall successful delivery of College activities.

Role Benefits

  • Work from home (no more commuting, saving you money and time each day)
  • Genuine work-life balance with flexible working arrangements
  • Laptop and mobile phone provided, as well as additional home office equipment as required
  • Values-based culture and team-oriented working environment
  • Work with a team of remote workers who enjoy what we do and the impact we make
  • Access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Travel - there is potential to visit major capitals and regional areas through attendance at some of our events

Selection Criteria

Essential

  1. Proven event coordinator skills (3+ years) including experience in the delivery of online events, and ability to multi-task across multiple event projects simultaneously;
  2. Demonstrated experience in project development functions, preferably in a membership or not for profit organisation;
  3. Demonstrated experience in event communication and promotion;
  4. Demonstrated high level customer service and administrative skills;
  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  6. Self-motivated, flexible and results orientated.

Desirable

  1. Experience working remotely will be highly regarded;
  2. Experience organising podcasts;
  3. Experience working with volunteers and/or in a Not for Profit environment.

APPLICATIONS

Applications must include a cover letter addressing the selection criteria as listed above and a current CV of no more than 4 pages in total.

Selection criteria must be addressed for application to proceed further.
